The vineyards

The property is located in a lovely wooded setting, typical of this area of Southern France. The chateau is built on a small hill, facing a valley on whose slopes are found a part of the vineyards.BVD_Vignes3WP100

The climate is typically Mediterranean, with long hot summers, full of sunshine, making it a good place to live.

The Domain is composed of a total of 110 hectares, 75 of which are covered in vines.

– 39 hectares in the Côtes du Rhône appellation
–  34 hectares in the Côtes du Rhône Villages appellation.
–  The rest is bottled as table wine.

The soils of the region are a result of sedimentary formations during the quaternary and Miocene periods. The majority of the domain is composed of marly and clay, often extremely rocky, which is very typical of the Cotes du Rhone appellation.

The average PH is very close to neutral, at 7.3.

Underground water is found in abundance, which is an advantage in a region where droughts are frequent.

In order to insure a constant and regular supply of quality wine grapes, a planting program has been implemented since the beginning, and the last 10 years has seen an overall increase in new plantings.
