Topping

The vineyard is a creeper which tends to grow strongly. We proceed regularly to a topping which consists in cutting down the superfluous vegetation so that the clusters are exposed to the sun and that the vineyard concentrates its energy in the elaboration of the fruit.

Disbudding

The secret of the quality lies largely in the quantity of grapes produced by acre. The means at disposal of the wine grower are on one hand the pruning in winter and on the other hand the disbudding during the period vegetative (May to August). It consists in the plots of land (recently planted generally) to decrease the number of bunches of grapes.

 Treatment

The vineyard as any plant is subject to attacks of diseases cryptogamic (mushrooms as mildew or oidium) or of varied insects (dust mites, butterflies..). For it we should set up a reasoned defence which respects the environment and which is not toxic for the consumer. The products which we use were it for decades, they are on base of copper and sulfur. The tie-up on wire allows to reduce significantly the spread doses. The weeding is realized mechanically by means of a plough.

The Grape harvests

The grape harvests start at the beginning of September to finish before the end of the same month. A part is realized by hand and the other one mechanically.
