Grenache
|
Grenache
is a varietal of Spanish origin, it is the main one of the
Rhone valley. Omnipresent in the south Mediterranean area.
|
|

|
The
size of the bunch is average and compact with black average
berries and a rather thick skin. The juice is colorless. This
vine is very sensitive to the decay
grey but little sensitive to the oïdium. It is well known to
resist to the aridity. |
The grenache gives its best results in the dry and rocky
hillsides. The obtained wine is then very alcoholic with a
generally weak sourness. Wines stemming from Grenache age
rather quickly. To obtain aging wines, it is recommended to
associate it with varietals having more bodie such as Syrah or
Mourvedre or smooth like Cinsault.
