| Yet in
Algeria
Quite naturally, Edouard
crossed the Mediterranean sea and went through Algeria,
territory where the vineyard began to prosper. The history
does not say why and how, he stopped in the small farm of
Sainte Marguerite in Rivoli near Mostaganem, surely to buy
the harvest still on feet. This practice was common and
procured financing to the wine growers newly installed to
pay their plantations. Sainte Marguerite, farm of the name
of Henri Bories's 4th child, further to the promise summit
to the Lord if he would dare give him a girl after 3 boys.
This girl, it was Marguerite Bories called to become Miss
Edouard Margnat and the mother of Paul, Robert, Jean (died
in the age of 18 years) and Jacques Margnat. Call it fate or
hand of God, as you will, for sure a miracle that gathered
the Margnat family and the Bories family to allow them to
live a legend which is going to last more than 100 years. In
all case, Edouard Margnat is seduced by the three robust
strapping lads who managed the estate as well as by the
small 8-year-old girl, Marguerite who made to him doubtless
this day her most beautiful smile. So Edouard joined with
the family Bories with a financial role. The objective being
to create vineyards. Ten years later he married Marguerite.
The suite saw the plantation of 3000 acres of magnificent
vineyards, all in Oranie.
