| Emile
Bories and his family
The meeting
between the patronymic of this wine growers' family and
Chateau La Borie is a glance of the history.
Frederique, the daughter of Emile, with her husband Denis
Vinson of Vinsobres, are a part of wine growers' 8th
generation to Bories. The grandfather of Emile, Henri Bories
was born in 1845, native of the Tarn, he was Director of the
Corporation of the Wine growers of the Tarn. One would say
President of the Union of the Wine growers of the Tarn
today. Ruined
by the phylloxera, he emigrates into Algeria between 1890
and 1895 with all his family. Marguerite ( N°4) will marry
Edouard Margnat and Louis ( N°3) is the father of Emile.
The elder son of the children of Henri, Auguste Bories had a
political fate. President of the Financial Delegations of
Algeria, the highest political post covering three French
departments in Algeria. The second, Emile, the godfather of
Jacques Margnat, is killed in 1915 on the front of Argonne a
couple of days after a permission obtained and intended to
attend the christening. He was a captain of Artillery.
In 1905, Emile Bories had been put in charge by
Edouard Margnat of the direction of the branch of Rouen
created on the edges of the Seine. He became in a short time
the 'king' of Paris wine business where he sold two millions
of hectoliters assembled by him in his wine storehouses of
Rouen and distributed by his Parisian wholesalers. Later,
his sons ( 2 ) will create their own wine estates. They
represented for the four Margnat brothers the fifth
and the sixth brothers.
